Po.st is sharing my homepage instead of my article

Follow

By default, all sharing tools share the Title and link of the page they are displayed on. For example, if you have a blogroll as your homepage with several articles, you may see the homepage being shared instead of your article.

We have two parameters in our integration guide that can help you fix that.

To grab the Title of your article:

pw:title=" "

To grab the Link of your article:

pw:url=" "

These two parameters go in the <div> surrounding your individual share buttons.

Example Code:

<div class="pw-widget" pw:url="http://example-link.com" pw:title="Article Title">
	<a class="pw-button-googleplus"></a>
	<a class="pw-button-facebook"></a>
	<a class="pw-button-twitter"></a>
	<a class="pw-button-email"></a>
</div>

PHP or JavaScript variables to dynamically pull in your title and link can be inserted between the quotes as well.

Wordpress example of pulling in article title and link:

<div class="pw-widget" pw:url="<?php the_permalink(); ?>" pw:title="<?php the_title(); ?>">
	<a class="pw-button-googleplus"></a>
	<a class="pw-button-facebook"></a>
	<a class="pw-button-twitter"></a>
	<a class="pw-button-email"></a>
</div>
*If you are using our Wordpress Plugin, you won't have to worry about doing this!

Tumblr example of pulling in article title and link:

<div class="pw-widget" pw:url="{Permalink}" pw:title="{Title}">
	<a class="pw-button-googleplus"></a>
	<a class="pw-button-facebook"></a>
	<a class="pw-button-twitter"></a>
	<a class="pw-button-email"></a>
</div>
